They are social and gather in groups of up to two- or three-dozen animals. They live in the tropical rain forests of Central and South America and can be as far North as Mexico.Usually females give birth to only 1 baby every 2 to 5 years. They depend completely on their mothers for about 10 days.Their average life span in the wild is 27 years and 33 years in captivity. Some types of Spider Monkeys are endangered, but not all.
